A Weekend Full of Joy, Food, and Family
This past weekend was a delightful whirlwind of reconnecting, indulging, and family moments, each day bringing its own special flavor of joy.
On Saturday, I decided to dive back into the Montreal subway system after years of not using it. My mission? To meet my best friend Varvara for her wedding dress fitting. The experience was nothing short of magical. As soon as Varvara emerged in her gown, my heart melted. She looked absolutely stunning—an ethereal vision of grace and beauty. Vicky and I couldn’t stop gushing over her, marveling at how perfect she looked. It was one of those heartwarming moments where everything just feels right.
The rest of the afternoon was dedicated to some quality time with my partner and our adorable puppy. Our furry friend has been dealing with an allergic reaction to the cooler weather, but we’ve managed to sort it out now. It’s always a bit worrisome when our pets aren’t feeling their best, but thankfully, our little pup is back to her happy self.
Sunday was a day for enjoying great food and cherished family moments. I had lunch with my friend Kaitlen at LE POKE STATION on Crescent Street. Despite the bustling nature of Crescent Street, the restaurant offered a surprisingly serene and clean atmosphere. It was a refreshing contrast to the usual hustle and bustle of the area.
The highlight, of course, was the food. In an era where many poke places serve up disappointingly small portions, LE POKE STATION was a delightful exception. The portions were generous, and the flavors were absolutely divine. It’s always a pleasure to find a place that doesn’t skimp on quality or quantity, especially when it comes to such a delicious dish.
After a satisfying meal, I spent the afternoon visiting my mom. We enjoyed a bit of hands-on family fun by picking grapes off the vines in her backyard. It was a simple yet deeply fulfilling activity, and it reminded me of the simple pleasures that can bring so much happiness.
In summary, this weekend was a perfect blend of friendship, good food, and family time. From Varvara’s enchanting wedding dress fitting to the delicious poke bowls and grape-picking escapades, it was a reminder of life’s many joys and the importance of cherishing these moments with those we love.
