Kiara Blanchette’s Book Launch Magic

Last night, I had the privilege of attending my first book launch for Kiara Blanchette’s Venus in Pisces. The evening was delicate and quaint, set against the charming backdrop of Vino Rama in Montreal’s Plateau. From the venue's beautiful decor to the delicious wine and flickering candles, every detail contributed to a warm atmosphere—especially Kiara’s radiant energy.

As I mingled with friends and fellow readers, I was thrilled to meet others who had also experienced Kiara’s work, as well as those picking up their copies for the first time. After sipping on some exquisite wine and soaking in the crisp autumn evening, Kiara took the stage. She provided us with deeper insights into her writing by reading some of her favorite pieces, sharing the backstories that enriched the experience.

One point Kiara made really resonated with me: while her poetry is beautiful on the page, it was originally crafted to be performed. She was absolutely right. Her delivery elevated the writing in ways I hadn’t imagined; her voice truly leaped off the page.

We were also treated to some exciting news: Venus in Pisces will soon be available as an audiobook! This means that readers at home will have the chance to experience Kiara’s work as it was always meant to be heard.
